A movement through history

Lying in the heart of Amsterdam there is a special building that is hard to miss. Its unique architecture and rich history have made it into one of the city’s cherished landmarks. A history that brought three nations together from the ashes of war to create a building with a mission.

Today Amsterdam’s Welvaren House continues the vision of the John Warder Trust,

"It is hoped, it will now long remain and be to the neighborhood as the name of the
captured ship indicates, an Amsterdam's Welvaren."

Opened in 1830, the house was the first kindergarden in the Netherlands and in 1947 it was  recognized by the Nobel Prize Association for its dedication to improving the well-being of children.
